Someone sitting at the end of a dock on Vermilion Lakes, Banff National Park, mountains across the water

$2,395 per person · three nights · groups of eight

Based in Canmore, twenty minutes from Banff, running in the national park. Bigger mountains, bigger views, and a higher price because lodging in the Bow Valley costs more.

The runs

7 km
The Tunnel Mountain loop above the Bow River, about 300 m of climbing.
12 km
Sulphur Mountain, 767 m of climbing to the ridge.
18 km
Healy Pass, 650 m of climbing into alpine meadow. Eighteen, not twenty-one; that is the trail's real length.

The group splits by distance rather than pace. Pick your distance on the day, and pick differently on the second run.

Where you stay

One place for the whole group: eight guests and the team of four, with a kitchen the chef can take over. Nothing is booked yet. These are examples of the kind of place you would stay in. Follow the links to see them.

  • Bell Cabin, Canmore Alpine HostelA private cabin for up to twelve, 4.5 km east of downtown Canmore, with its own fully equipped kitchen and two shower rooms. Mostly single and bunk beds.

Everything else

Meals, yoga, the parasympathetic work, an hour of testing in the van for each guest, the team and what you take home are the same at every location. Read the full retreat.
